We were on the fence about building another home in Mandeville Louisiana after the nightmare we went through with a local Louisiana home builder. After Matt and Joe showed us their home plans and the system they use, we were sold. Cretin Townsend Homes' communication is in a class all its own!! They made us feel like our opinion mattered and really worked with us and sat down with us several times to make sure our thoughts and concerns were addressed.
Beware in Lafourche Parish. It started with little things -- They messed up and wanted to charge us more to fix the fireplace then only one pantry shelf was on the blue print so they wanted us to pay for more. They wind up "eating the cost". But then we started noticing how things were done. Our contractor told us there is no such thing a perfect house. Any thing we asked about his answer was "we'll fix that later or that's not how we do things" There are so many holes in my brick martyr that the AC installers said it was would effect our warranty. When we mentioned it to our Contractor he said "well you have breather holes don't you ". They put shelves that appeared used in the closet. The closet which doesn't close because the door is not hung right. Another shelf the stud was missed and a hole was left in the wall with no attempt to patch/fix. I'm sure my contractor would say it would be done later but we got tired of waiting for later. Two doors left in a bedroom stuck together and the paint peeled off in places when pulled apart. There are so many tiles that are horribly cut. Some mistakes are very visible. He also talked about all of his clients. We know who had problems, who couldn't pay, and whose construction was stopped and why. We have chosen to finish the house ourself and they are STILL trying to nickel and dime us. Claiming most of the cost was in the "last Draw".

From Sales (Jim) to the owner himself (Mr. Joe), everyone was happy and willing to help. Special thanks goes out to our Building Supervisor Cody.... He is at the pinnacle of his profession and has taken care of any opportunities that arose (which were not many). After hour calls were always answered with professionalism second to none. His work ethic earned my trust and my praise. I recommend Townsend/Cretin homes to anyone who has a dream and wanting it to be fulfilled in a trouble free process.

Thanks for making the planing and picking out the options so easy and calm. We felt rushed and like our input didn't really matter at some other places. We are really thankful to the Townsend Homes team. You guys actually took extra time with us and made us feel comfortable and stress free. After visiting other home builders and home plan "experts" Going with you guys were definitely a no brainer. I Never write reviews but after visiting with Townsend I had to post what a pleasant experience my wife and I had.
