Good for a vet, not for boarding... My dog can only have specific food because of stomach issues, I brought his food and a scoop for measuring his food, I only put enough for the time he would be staying and I specifically measured it into the bag.He had a specific schedule I asked to be followed and was told it would be. It was not, he was not fed his food because the bag had the same amount left in it as it did when I dropped him off. He had horrible diarrhea for 2 days after he came home
Amazing care from amazing doctors and staff. Everyone has wonderful compassion for pets and clients. A very caring hospital that goes out of it"s way to help each patient the best they can. Would send everyone to Hickory Small Animal Hospital any time.
Words cannot express the gratitude and appreciation I have for Dr. Jason Farrell and all the staff at Hickory Small Animal Hospital. Our pets have been patients for several years and have fortunately been mostly healthy. We added a sweet puppy a couple of months back, who was recently critically ill and spent 7 nights in the hospital in isolation. Dr. Farrell was there every step of the way caring for our puppy, even when the outcome looked really bad. From diagnosing, to treating, to hand feeding our little guy, Dr. Farrell loved our baby like his own! The only thing I wanted for Christmas, I got. My family was able to bring our puppy home! I cannot thank Dr. Farrell enough for the personalized care we got and for making this happen.
The drs , technicians, and even receptionists are trained to meet higher standards for the best veterinary care ! I will not take my babies any where else , I did once a long time ago and if it weren't for me coming to hickory my veteran of the group would no longer be here with the help of the drs at Hickory we have slowed his progression of his disease and are treating his nasty heart worms and thanks to them I'll have more time with my old man tuxedo ! Big thanks to all the drs and staff at hickory that do such a great job on a daily basis , they are always there for you from the first puppy visit , yearly visit , and even sick visits , and when it's time to help your babies cross over the colorful rainbow they will be there too ! This is was true compassion in veterinary care looks like ! If you have never had a chance to witness that come by hickory small animal hospital and see for yourself how amazing and how easy bringing your baby to the doggie dr can be !
I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for the amazing team at Hickory Small Animal Hospital! Everyone there is truly awesome. They treat my fur babies like they are their own. Anyone looking for great care and a veterinary clinic that has the latest and greatest technology, this is the place to go! The doctors always take time to talk me through all my options and answer my questions thoroughly and with compassion.

Edit... I spoke with the vet after my review and decided to change my review a little.. I was told that if an animal doesn't eat their food that the owner provides that they will feed them can dog food for the age of your animal and nutritional need. I'm fine with that but I still think I should be called and informed before they give anything that wasn't specified when I dropped my dog off. He is like a child to me and I would appreciate that courtesy. Like I said before I will continue to use them for my vet and my family will continue to use them as well. I appreciate the phone call explaining what happened but I would have given them a good review to start off with if I was informed when I picked Boudreaux up. Thanks for communicating, that's all I ask in the future!

I have been going to Hickory Small Animal Hospital since they opened in 2009, the care has always been excellent but this year it was exceptional. Two of my fur babies were diagnosed with cancer and Dr. Farrell and the staff went above and beyond to ensure they got the best care possible. They walked me through every test ran, every x-ray/ultrasound done and every option to help me make the best decision possible for my hearts! And when it was time to let my babies go Dr. Farrell was there to support us every step of the way, making the dog and us as comfortable and cared about as possible.
