This is the first time ive been here and the food is really good. They have a good variety of dishes to choose from and the atmosphere is nice. My server Stephanie was very attentive. I will come back.
I frequently eat at Cafe Nola. The food is consistent and there are so many different delicious items on the menu that I find myself going back time and time again. The staff is always friendly and helpful going out of their way to make sure that I have a wonderful dining experience. One of my favorite dishes is the Veal Venezia. I always try to order meals that I don't cook at home but honestly everything that I have eaten is absolutely delicious from there pastas to their nightly specials. I would highly recommend Cafe Nola to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
I ordered the crab cakes to start. They arrived hot with a couple of wonderful sauces. But, the were very heavily breaded with little crab meat to be seen. There was so much breading and so little crab that the crab taste was completely lost and they weren't light at all. They were also very greasy from deep frying. I ate half of one crab cake and brought the rest home.
Cons: Food was very disappointing.
Summary: I know this to be a good place to eat because I've eaten here with others before and it was a nice outing. Maybe I was just there on an "off" night. Or, perhaps they have lost attention to detail. Regardless, it was somewhat disappointing.
Pros: Very clean. Nice ambience. An EXTREMELY helpful and friendly staff. Wonderful, varied selection of menu items.

My chicken fettuccine arrived next. The sauce on top was fairly thick/dry"ish" (kind of congealed on top) and again, like the crab cake, was very heavy tasting. The chicken, while charred nicely and tasty, was somewhat tough and hard to cut.
My crawfish etouffee was flavorless.

Burned hush puppies had that char taste. Brought out 2nd batch- not as burned- but inside was not cooked.
